SCARF is a non-profit foundation operated by a group of volunteers with the Solano County Animal Shelter. SCARF provides education, appointments and transportation to low cost spay/neuter clinics and placement of homeless dogs, cats and rabbits into permanent loving homes.

We provide adoption events in a variety of locations in Solano County as well as care for “special needs” homeless animals. Because SCARF is a volunteer organization, 100% of donations goes to the benefit of the animals in need.

Our Accomplishments

As of December 2014, our volunteers have placed over 4,000 homeless animals into caring homes.

May 2012 was our record month – 92 pets were adopted through mobile adoption programs.

Volunteers have provided appointments and transportation to low-cost spay/neuter clinics for over 8,000 cats and dogs.

We have also provided over $10,000 for life saving emergency surgeries.

Your donations have provided:

  • Food and formula for kittens
  • Lifesaving medical care for animals in our care
  • Medical tests and vaccinations
  • Spay and neuter surgeries
  • Mobile adoption supplies
  • Support for the foster program
  • Shelter medical clinic provisions
  • Treats, toys, beds & grooming supplies for shelter resident dogs and cats
